Silicon Valley: a land brimming with exciting opportunities for ambitious rebels and innovators, the place where people from all over the world strive to challenge the status quo. But, with such a level of competition, how do you ensure to make the most out of every chance for a successful entrance into this new ecosystem?
Back in May, I had the honor of moderating this highly insightful chat with five remarkable industry leaders on the topic of surviving and thriving over time in Silicon Valley. One of the main themes throughout the conversation was the importance of acknowledging and bridging cultural differences when coming from a different environment.
Here are three of the many valuable tips to keep in mind if you are embarking on the journey to mastering Silicon Valley:
1. Think Very Big
Whether it is about reach, market, or potential — always keep your aspirations big.
2. Stay on Top of Your Networking Strategy
If you are a newcomer, you are going to need people to open doors for you. So make sure to invest in people, pay-it-forward, and nurture long-term relationships.
3. Be Ready
You never know what opportunity could be around the corner for you. So know exactly what you’re looking for —and how to pitch it effectively!—, what value you can deliver to others, and always be ready to answer when asked about it.

This is another side of culture that we also cover at Reimaginez. With our cultural expertise, we help high-achieving founders and leaders break into new markets and connect to the right people, spanning across diverse cultural backgrounds, in order to make their visions come to life. We are here to help you bridge the cultural gap.
Thank you to Keiretsu Forum for having me as a moderator in this remarkable conversation. It was a pleasure and an honor to learn from your wisdom, Nancy White, Christian Parlanti, Joe Cutts, Fred Rosenzweig, and Ted Elvhage.
